Kim Clijster and Andy Murray awarded US Open wildcards

Kim Clijster and Andy Murray were awarded wild cards into the 2020 US Open main draw. Clijster is a four times and Andy a three times slam winner. Both Kim and Andy are past US Open winners also.

Kim Clijster won the US Open in 2005, 2009, and 2010

This would be Clijster’s first slam appearance since her second round loss at Flushing Meadows in 2012. The Belgian, however, has an illustrious history at the Flushing Meadows, and won the title in 2005, 2009, and 2010. Kim is a former World number one, and making a comeback after already being elected to the International Hall of Fame. We hope the 37 years old can recreate the past magic.

Andy turned 33 this May and will grab any chance at playing the big ones. We only hope he has learnt his lesson and will now play to shorten points and avoid meaningless rallies extending beyond eight shots.

We wish Andy Murray and Kim Clijster the very best on their return.
